Our Board consists of a team of amazing individuals.
Charles J. Gibbs, who is our Co-Founder and Vice President, comes with a wealth of experience in business development and foundation management because of his experience as the CEO of the 100 Black Men of America.
Bettina Fisher, our Vice President of Programs, brings her experience and talent from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, where she organizes and runs several programs for students interested in film.
Wanda Leftwich, our Vice President and Secretary, brings her experience from the healthcare industry as a behavior health clinical case worker for Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield, ensuring that our folks stricken with mental health and substance abuse issues are cared for humanely.
This team is very special because they are family. In fact, they all worked together to support Co-Founder and President Renee Gibbs when she was undergoing her double lung and heart transplant, both pre and post-transplant. They are smart, dedicated, and passionate about our cause.

Our Mission
The Heartbeat Foundation, Inc. is a registered 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to providing support to pre and post transplant patients. In addition, the organization strives to provide health and beauty, emotional and transportation support increasing public awareness about the special needs and issues facing individuals pre and post transplant. We make this happen with financial commitments through sponsorships, fundraising, donations and pledge drives.
